THE DETAILS / 05

Good things
to know.

Quick answers before you take Zoomify out for a spin.

Explore the source on GitHub ↗
Is 50× zoom actually optical?

No. Zoomify combines the camera's supported hardware zoom with additional software cropping and magnification. At high zoom levels, image quality depends on the sensor and can look softer.

Can every Android phone record 4K at 30 FPS?

No. 4K/30 is an available capture option, but actual support depends on the camera, device, Android implementation and selected recording path. Zoomify may fall back to another resolution if the device doesn't support the requested combination.

What's the difference between Cinematic and Sensor HQ?

Cinematic is designed to include zoom and creative processing in recordings. Sensor HQ prioritizes the camera's own stream and offers higher-fidelity modes such as HDR on compatible hardware. Their available effects and formats differ.

Do I need root or a Zoomify account?

No root is needed to install the ordinary Android app. The website's download button points straight to a GitHub APK release — no Zoomify account is required.

Does the interactive demo use my camera?

Not at all. This website contains an illustrated interactive preview. It doesn't request camera access, take photos, record videos or show your surroundings.

How do I get future updates?

The download button points to the android-latest GitHub release. That release is updated with new builds. Download the latest APK and install it over the existing app when Android allows it.
